Advancing Indoor Environmental Quality Metrics

Dr. John McKeon, Principal at the iAIR Institute, delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the integration of biomarkers and real-time monitoring systems in health-optimized buildings. This cutting-edge approach not only advances indoor environmental quality (IEQ) metrics but also sets a benchmark for designing spaces that prioritize occupant health and well-being.

Strengthening Partnerships for a Healthier Future

The conference also provided an excellent platform for fostering meaningful collaborations. We were delighted to meet with Dr. Yiannis Kontoulis and Anastasios Argyris from Knauf Greece, continuing discussions about extending our successful certification partnership with Knauf North America to the EU teams. Together, we aim to focus on healthier, more sustainable building materials through Certification and Verification. Their support in submitting insulation products for testing is a testament to their commitment to advancing healthier indoor environments.

Acknowledging a Forward-Thinking Event

A special thanks to the ASHRAE Hellenic Chapter for hosting this visionary conference and bringing together such an impressive lineup of speakers and participants. The ENERGY in BUILDINGS 2024 Conference demonstrated the power of collaboration, scientific innovation, and global action in addressing the challenges of sustainability, IAQ, and health-optimized buildings.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and collaborations, driving meaningful change for healthier indoor environments worldwide.
