Balancing Indoor Air Quality and Sustainability

The presentation, titled “Balancing Indoor Air Quality and Sustainability: How to Safeguard Tenant Health in the Climate Change Era,” will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024. This session will explore the intrinsic links between climate change, health, and buildings. Given the recent global pandemic and widespread wildfires, IAQ has become a critical focus. The panel will discuss how the industry can adopt eco-conscious IAQ strategies that do not compromise on energy-use goals. They will reveal survey results on how IAQ is managed and understood across the real estate landscape and how it is balanced and prioritized against energy efficiency objectives.

Learning Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

    1. Understand the intersection between sustainability, indoor air quality, and value & risk mitigation.
    2. Learn the most effective building indoor air quality strategies that don’t compromise on energy-use goals.
    3. Discern insights from the IAQ in real estate survey.
    4. Understand who at their company should set and manage IAQ policies and protocols, what information informs these policies and protocols, and how to balance and prioritize them against energy efficiency goals.
