    The week commenced on a high note with a notable event hosted at the Daikin Sustainability and Innovation Center in Washington DC, featuring a discussion led by Dr. Jerome Adams, former US Surgeon General. Dr. Adams shared invaluable insights gleaned from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly emphasizing the profound implications for homes and the built environment. This insightful conversation set the stage for a busy week of research and advocacy.

    Research at AAAAI 2024 Annual Meeting

    The iAIR Institute presented its latest research at the American Academy of Allergy and Asthma and Immunology Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Authored by Dr. Gráinne Cunniffe and her research team, the institute unveiled two posters shedding light on crucial aspects of indoor air quality. One poster delved into the intricate relationship between fragrances and the built environment, while the other explored the concept of the ‘exposome’ and its far-reaching impacts on our surroundings.

    Design and Construction Week

    Finally to Las Vegas for the Design and Construction Week – where the International Builders Show and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show merge. At the Healthy Home Subcommittee of the National Association of Homebuilders, Dr. John McKeon, Principal of the iAIR Group, spoke on the importance of constructing homes that prioritize health and connectivity, while maintaining energy efficiency. His insights underscored the role of innovative home design in shaping the well-being of future generations.

    Additionally, the iAIR Institute actively contributed to the ASHRAE Committee Meetings, engaging in discussions centered around the critical role of ventilation in fostering healthier indoor environments.
