The iAIR Group, and the newly formed Indoor Air and Innovation Research Institute, had a busy time in Washington DC last week.
Following the WELLSummit and the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, we participated in a number of high level strategic meetings with legislators, members of Congress, and senators.
We had the privilege of meeting Congressman Joe Courtney (D-CT) and discussed his Healthy at Home Act. And we had the pleasure of meeting Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) and Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) as they launched their Green New Deal for Public Schools Act.
One of the many highlights on Capitol Hill was a luncheon briefing to address Congress on how indoor air quality impacts on K -12 schools. With a panel that included Lawrence Sloan, of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), Erik Malmstrom, CEO at SafeTraces, Inc. and Mary Filardo, Executive Director of the 21st Century School Fund, and moderated by Mark Ames, it was a great opportunity to help shape the future for our students.
Sincere thanks to Bobby Cunningham from Vogel Group, who set up many of these meetings and is paving the way for the Indoor Air Innovation Research Institute.
