2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference

Knauf Sponsors Tech Talk and Hosts Evening Fireside Chat with Dr. John McKeon and Dr. Jerome Adams

Our colleagues and clients of the asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program at Knauf Insulation North America are eagerly anticipating a busy ASHRAE Annual Conference.

Tech Talk: Thermal and Acoustical Insulation for HVAC Mechanical Systems: The Silent Contributor to Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and Decarbonization Presented by: Knauf Insulation North America 📅 Monday, June 24 🕒 2:15 PM – 2:45 PM EDT

    CERTIFIED Knauf Insulation

Darrell Peil, Specifications and Business Development Manager at Knauf, will present a talk exploring the significant impact insulation has on IEQ and its role in decarbonization. Knauf North America recently introduced their asthma & allergy friendly® CERTIFIED HVAC fiberglass insulation product line, Knauf Performance+. This initiative aims to improve indoor air quality by addressing concerns about indoor air pollutants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Following the tech talk, Knauf will host a social event on Monday evening featuring a fireside chat with Dr. John McKeon, Principal of the iAIR Institute, and Dr. Jerome Adams, Executive Director of Health Equity Initiatives at Purdue University and former U.S. Surgeon General.

Dr. Adams is a distinguished public health expert and advocate for healthier buildings and indoor spaces, with extensive experience working in underserved communities. The event will emphasize Knauf’s commitment to the healthy buildings paradigm, offering unique insights from a physician’s perspective.

    ASHRAE Annual Conference

Dr. John McKeon, a member of the ASHRAE Environmental Health Committee (EHC), which serves as ASHRAE’s primary resource on indoor environmental quality and environmental health topics, will also be presenting at the ASHRAE Conference on Sunday, June 24. Dr. McKeon’s presentation will explore the complexities and potential of utilizing health-based metrics for assessing IEQ. His talk will cover the intricacies of individual variability and confounding factors that challenge the direct measurement of IEQ impacts on health.

Dr. McKeon’s ASHRAE Seminar: 📢 Seminar 14: Challenges of Defining an IEQ Metric(s) for Development of an IEQ Standard 📅 Sunday, June 23 🕜 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM EDT
